Georgia fans react to Carson Beck’s four turnover performance in loss to Alabama

Carson Beck made the decision to return to Athens for his fifth and second season as the Bulldogs' starting quarterback after Georgia lost to Alabama in the SEC Championship game last season and was unable to participate in the four-team College Football Playoff. But when Beck finally got another chance to play against the Crimson Tide, he led No. 2 Georgia travels to Tuscaloosa to confront No. 4 Alabama, Beck did not appear to be prepared at this time.
Beck was unable to respond to Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe's dominance until the second half, when Alabama scored on its first four possessions. Beck lost the ball twice in the first half and fumbled at the start of the fourth quarter, but he still led the Bulldogs back to a 34-33 lead before Milroe scored a touchdown by throwing to Ryan Williams from 75 yards out. Then, in the 41-34 defeat, Beck threw his third interception of the game, ending Georgia's hopes.
Kirby Smart's 42-game winning streak during the regular season came to an end as Georgia lost for the first time since November 7, 2020. Georgians were dissatisfied with their quarterback's performance even after his stellar 2023 season, which established him as a top NFL prospect and Heisman Trophy contender entering this season.
Some people began to wonder if Beck's nearly 4,000-yard season in 2023 was more due to the talented pass catchers he was throwing to than to his quarterbacking skills. Beck doesn't appear to be the same player without his top two playmakers.
